Fitness - What are Birmingham doing right that we are doing wrong??
|
Heard yesterday that they had played the same 11 something like 11 games in a row. Players being fit brings consistency and that obviously breeds familiarity and confidence and therefore that in turn gains points.
Bowyer was always injured when he was here yet he is part of that side. What on earth is the difference between their training methods and ours that allows them to have fit players and us to have a bunch of retirement risks??!!!! |

1. Lower wages = less satisfied, more hungry. 2. They are winning games and so want to be part of the side. |

Same that we were doing the first year we came up, but apparently weren't doing the next year. |

Birmingham are playing as a team and have a great team spirit whereas we don't play as a team and looks like the players have had too much spirits. |

Being lucky, that's what. Every team thinks it has awful injury woes - you could pick any feam and list 3 - 5 first choice players out at any given time. That's the game. But we only choose to notice ours. And of course our crocks are 65k cunts. |

ManU have got velociraptor training methods, but we've got brontosaurus ones. |

LUCK!
That is all...all teams have injuries,Man Utd had their whole back four out and back up defenders for weeks and even played Carrick in defence!
Don't tell me they have dinosaur training methods? |

I guess also that McLeish is 'Old school' and playing systems or tactics to his team's strengths.
Perhaps he's not going in for a continental style formation that his players can't understand or that they struggle with? |

Some good points already mentioned on this thread, especially Jasnik`s about us not pressing like a team and some players blowing out of their arses by the end of the match as a result.
On a related note, I wouldn`t mind Alex McLeish coming here. It is stunning to see how good a team he has made out of other teams` cast offs. I mean, supposedly 'finished' players such as Bowyer, Carr and to some extent Phillips are key players for them! |

Birmingham are mid table. I thought that is what everyone moaned about under AC. |

When our young squad was flying under Pardew, it was because they all stayed fit for virtually the whole season.
Last year, largely the same group of players we have now were fit for the second half of the season and we shot up the table. Birmingham just happen to be having a great deal of luck with injuries (or lack thereof) this season.
There's no real trick to it. It's not to do with the manager. It's just luck for the most part. We are having horrendously shitty luck with injuries this season. It's starting to change now, and I suspect when it does, and we start playing the same eleven, match fit players, you will see us begin to steadily climb the table as well. |

Interesting that Brum have shown you can still buy players from the Championship who can step up to PL level.
Thier 2 CB's, Johnson and Danns have been outstanding. |

Didn’t BG commission an expensive study on injuries/fitness from Roehampton University?
Has it made a difference? |

Their confidence is high, they feel on top of the world. Ours look like the weight of the world is on their shoulders, not helped by having an inexperienced boss who may not be able to give them the specific direction they need. |
